Wascana Marsh is a thriving 223 hectare marshland located within Wascana Centre in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. Its existence dates back to 1913 when a planner had the foresight to establish the Wascana Game Preserve.
The Association of Saskatchewan Urban Parks and Conservation Agencies (ASUPCA) is a non-profit volunteer organization that encourages the conservation and protection of the natural environment within Saskatchewan's cities. Through public programs, workshops and demonstrations, marketing and fundraising, ASUPCA supports Saskatchewan's seven conservation and devlopment agencies, one of which is Wascana Centre.
Carbon Credit Canada is a carbon offset program run by ASUPCA. You can reduce your carbon footprint by purchasing carbon offsets that provide funding for various conservation efforts in Wascana Centre and other urban parks in the province. For example, in Wascana Centre, funds received from carbon credits will be put towards the annual re-forestation progam, the landscaping of trails, and the restoration of a grassland area that was previously overrun with an invasive plant species.
