With the City of Regina lifting water restrictions, Wascana Centre Authority will continue with its annual tree and flower planting program. Over the next few days, Wascana Centre will also resume its irrigation program using water from Wascana Lake.

“We are very proud of our crews for keeping Wascana Centre looking great throughout the recent water restrictions,” stated Wascana Centre Authority CEO Bernadette McIntyre. “We worked very closely with the City of Regina and delayed our planting season and halted all irrigation over the past couple of weeks. As always, we will continue to use lake water for all of our irrigation with the exception of the University of Regina and Saskatchewan Polytechnic campuses.”

Starting this week, crews will begin planting the Queen Elizabeth II gardens directly in front of the Legislative Building. Other tree and flower planting will continue during the days and weeks to come.

Wascana Centre takes great pride in ensuring we remain one of the top urban parks in North America, while keeping with our mandate of conservation of the environment.
