Natural Wascana

One of Wascana Centre’s mandates is to be devoted to conservation of the environment. Within the Centre’s boundaries is an impressive marsh ecosystem that many species of mammals, birds, fish, amphibians, reptiles, insects and plants call home. It is an extraordinary place to explore nature without leaving the city.

Interpretive Programming

Recently, Wascana Centre has launched an exciting interpretive program aimed at educating today’s youth about the wonders that nature has to offer right in Wascana Centre.  Schools can hike through the Habitat Conservation Area, see birds being banded, visit the display ponds, bike around the park and so much more!  We also provide in-class programming so students can learn about Wascana Centre in their own classroom.  One of the highlights of our in-class presentations is that we bring live animals right into the classroom! We provide programming during all seasons.
